2025 VBS Adult Volunteer Sign Up

Aug. 19-23 from 8 am to 12 pm | Please fill out this volunteer form as soon as you can. Deadline to sign up will be July 31, 2024.
Each year children are presented with the Gospel message through our VBS. All their senses are engaged through music, arts & crafts and recreation. Not only that, but they experience the love of God in such a special way through volunteers. Volunteers are vital in our VBS program. There are many different ways to serve. Read below for some basic information. Thank you for volunteering!

After teams have been created, Martha Lew, our VBS director, will contact you with specific dates and times to meet for training and prep.

Worship MC

a) Lead the opening and closing rally.
b) Dismiss crews.  
c) Make announcements.
Worship Rally Team Leader

The responsibilities of this leader is to:
a. recruit body worship team. 
b. conduct rehearsals and ensure each VBS team member learns the songs and motions for VBS. 
c. select the songs to be included each day as well as provide slide presentation for worship rallies.
d. help mentor the team who is usually mostly made up of youth students. 
e. lead the praise portion of rallies and the music station. 


Decorating/Set Design Leader

This leader:
a. decides how the stage & each space used for VBS will be decorationed.
b. provides instructions & guidance to Decorating Team
c. helps mentor the team who is usually mostly made up of youth students
d. provides VBS Director with list of supplies needed & checks that decorations are done within budge.
Lead Crew Leaders

a) Recruit & coordinate crew leaders & assistants
b) Make sure there is coverage for all crews each day
c) During the weeks leading up to VBS help crew leaders to plan their lesson (if needed)
d) Make sure all crews are confident about teaching the lesson & provide support as needed on how to teach the lesson before VBS week
d) During VBS walk around to note if crew leaders & assistants could use support about teaching the lesson & managing children's engagement & behavior
e) Check in after each VBS day to see if crew leaders need support (can be done in person or via text; experienced leaders may not need as much as newer/younger leaders)
CREW LEADERS AND ASSISTANTS

Crew leaders are responsible for providing an age-appropriate Bible study experience for children (Grades K–6th).

The leader will:

a. Review the Bible Study Leader Guide and prep to lead lessons each day. Also choose activities or games that will help children to retain lessons within time frame given. 

b. Guide their crew to worship rallies and each station. 

c. Attend VBS training and prayer meetings.

Each crew willl need an assistant. 

CRAFTS TEAM

This team is responsible for selecting the crafts for VBS. The team will:

a. Review the Crafts Rotation Leader Guide.

b. Select one craft per day. 

c. Create a complete and detailed supply list within given budget

d. Purchase supplies or submit the list for VBS Director to purchase.
SNACK STATION TEAM

This station provides an activity based on the Bible lesson or VBS theme using snack ingredients. This team will:


a. Plan out an activity and snack for each day using materials provided by the curriculum.
b. Lead the station being mindful of any allergies children may have.
c. Create a complete and detailed supply list within given budget
d. Purchase supplies or submit the list for VBS Director to purchase

RECREATION TEAM

This team is responsible for selecting games for VBS. This team will:

a. Review the Recreation Rotation Cards and Preschool Recreation Rotation Cards and plan to lead games.

b. Select one recreation game per day that meets

the following criteria (recommended list will be provided):

c. Create a list of supplies needed to be purchased. 

d. et up and clean up activities and games. 

e. Make sure every child feels included and is behaving in a safe manner
MISSIONS TEAM Leader

This team will prepare and lead the missions station during

VBS. The team will:

a. Review the Missions Rotation Leader Guide and select activities and games that are age appropriate for each group.

b. Work with your VBS Director to determine a hands-on mission project and/or offering goal that families can

contribute to during VBS.

c. Download the daily missions videos and send the ones

you want to include to our Media Team Leader to be played at the worship rallies.
d. set up and clean up of missions station


Drop-off/Pick up TEAM

a. This team will be responsible for setting up drop-off/pick-up for each day. 
b. Parent will be directed to this team if parent needs to locate their child (e.g. give child something forgot to take, child needs to leave early or arrives late)
MEDIA TEAM

The media team will be responsible for all A/V, lighting,

a. Commit to being available each day of VBS.

b. Handle all technical aspects of opening and closing worship rally.

By submiiting my name, I acknowledge that I have read the Child Protection Policy and I understand my responsibilities. If I breach the Policy in anyway, I will inform the Director of my actions and the reasons for them.
By signing below, I am confirming that I am physically fit and can safely participate in VBS activities. If, in the event of accidental illness or injury, I authorize adult leaders of this ministry to consent for medical treatment if I am unable to consent myself and to exercise their reasonable judgment as to appropriate medical care. I also agree to pay all costs and expenses incurred for such services. I understand that in such an event, I will be contacted as soon as possible. Adult leaders of this ministry also have my permission to sign any waiver of liability which may be required. I agree to hold harmless and blameless, the leadership of Living Faith Community Church (including members of ministry teams and any additional adults participating in or providing assistance to the activity) from any injury or illness resulting from participation in this activity. I waive all rights to any civil action against the above mentioned parties. The authorization for consent will be in effect from the date of signature until August 24, 2025.
